Drops of Hope
Small Truths, Big Impact
“We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God, who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with which it is performed.” ~Brother Lawrence~ “The Practice of the Presence of God” Most of us make a critical mistake when we are either going through hard times or when we are receiving a Blessing. We often see a Blessing as, we must be in tune with God and we are doing something right, which is totally possible, but don't let it be your only mark of success or confirmation of your closeness with God! As I have said before blessings are often not meant for just you, they are meant for many, but most of all to Honor and Glorify God! The same goes with a dry period in your life or hard times, these should not be a mark of distance between you and God. Although, if you are distant from the Lord you might feel this way and this is not going to be the only reason for the dry season! God uses these times to teach us and stretch us and ultimately strengthen us! Because if you are able to handle trails and hard times you will have the confidence and experience to tackle bigger things! God doesn’t judge us by the work that we do (Pray, Go to Church, Be A “Good” Person, Give to the Poor, etc.….) or whether we feel close to Him. The praying, the desire to go to church, the wanting to be a good person, a giving spirit, etc.…. should all be byproducts of your relationship with God, and not the vehicle to get you to God. God’s only benchmark is that we have a relationship with Him through his Son Jesus. Us wanting to be close to God should be our motivation, and helping others to find the true peace in our hearts and minds should be the reason why we live our lives for God! Not, that we might get some material type of blessing or throw a fit and feel left out when God doesn’t look our way every moment of our lives. God has already given us the one and only promise that we should need. The fact that we are saved from the penalty of sin, and have been given a pass into Heaven’s Gates without having to pay the penalty ourselves. This gift should be enough for us to give our lives whole heartedly to God, but sadly for some of us this is not the case! I encourage us to do things that will strengthen your spiritual life and help take some of the guesswork out of whether you are in line with God are: Steady Prayer, Time in the Word of God, Asking Questions, Fellowship with People of God (church and other gatherings), and putting yourself into your spiritual growth (reading/audio books, listening to sermons and other speakers, and group discussions). Just like anything else this take practice to gain understanding, but, if you keep at it you will grow, and so will your closeness with God! With Love, Be Blessed,

My neighbor and I had a good conversation about this very subject. My neighbor works as a Church custodian. Feeling frustrated at seeing such hypocrisy on a constant basis in the world. We discussed how it’s so important and all that matters is the relationship with Jesus. Keeping the positive energy in the Lord everyday close to our hearts. Comments are closed.
